Your question was: Anyone on Nutrisystem flex try carb blockers?.
Sounds like a hoax...or just plain dangerous. But i'm generally a worry-wart...
I used something similar when I was on LA Weight Loss, and they seemed to work...
Even if they work I do not see why we have a need for them on Nutrisystem since the carbs we get on the program are carbs we need and good carbs..
I've used them when I knew I was about to eat something too carby. They do work. They are made from white kidney beans, so they aren't harmful. No side effects either...
They are made with white kidney bean extract. It partially blocks the action of the digestive enzyme alpha-amalyase. This means it essentially prevents the breakdown of starch into dextrin and ultimately glucose. The result is ingested starches (carbs) pass through the digestive system without being are digested.
There is another starch-digesting enzyme called glucoamylase. When alpha-amalyase is inhibited, glucoamylase is still at work.so not ALL carbs are really undigested; just some of them...
You're welcome. I'm past goal and still use carb blockers occasionally...
Thanks Westgal. I may look into this. Have a super, wonderful cruise!.
