It has been a week. Once 3-4 days pass I know it's not going to happen...
Perhaps he is building up the courage by getting to know you on facebook? It's a possibility, I've seen this done before. Not that it isn't kind of a cowardly approach, but it does happen. If I were you though, I wouldn't exactly put any eggs in this basket. He has your number and knows you're interested in him calling you. If it happens it happens, you'll see. Keep your eyes out for other guys!..
Frankly I would be pretty turned off by that, as well. I pretty much only keep FB connections with either people who actually ARE friends, or I have some valid affiliation with. If someone like that friends me and then doesn't contact me, I'll usually clear them off within a couple of weeks, because to me if they can't be bothered to call me or e-mail me or something more, then they are not my friend and I'm not interested in just upping their "friend number.".

Thanks. I agree. I just don't quite get why if he wasn't interested he bothered with facebook. I didn't even give him my number, a friend did. So there was no obligation/guilt in any way. We are 30 and he seems normal/has normal friends so I doubt he is one of those facebook weirdos who friends everyone - he doesn't have a million friends.I was just confused why he bothered if there was no interest in calling than why was their interest in friending me?..
Not to be mean, but why do you care so much? He is taking a lot of your energy, lol! He probably didn't even think about it, just did it. I'd say unfriend him and move on. Believe me, finding someone and friending them on a social networking site does NOT take much energy. Obviously he was curious enough to punch a few computer keys, but not curious enough to pick up a phone..
