I am new to this board but I have a question. .

I went to Vegas last week and I met a guy while there. I had a really great time with him. We hung out 3 nights in a row, laughing, talking and having a great time. We walked down the strip, did some gambling, went to his place, etc. .

Since we've left Vegas we've exchanged a few texts and emails. It has been a really long time since I have met a guy I thought I could actually fall for. And I think I could totally fall for him. I date using Match.com a lot but haven't met anyone I click with even half as well as I clicked with him. I can't stop thinking about him (which is not normal for me). The biggest problem that I can see is that I live in Canada and he lives in the States. .

Any advice?.

Do they have the "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" commercials in Canada?   If not, that's the big advertising slogan for Vegas..

Hon, I live about 300 or so miles from Vegas ... and I can't tell you how many gals (myself included!) have had 'vacation romances' with guys in Vegas.    I don't know if it's just something in the water there (or all the drinking, etc, ha ... I'm guessing it's the latter).

Look, this is common ... whether it's Vegas or somewhere else ... it's common to meet on vacation ... you're both there for fun, frolic, etc ... there are no real world pressures ... you're both out of your element ...

Of course you 'click!'.

I'd say ... let it go.   Chalk it up to nice memories, fun experience ... but, focus on meeting guys local to where you live ...vacation flings aren't meant to turn into anything more than just that.  .

(fwiw, usually what happens ... and I've had a couple of vacation flings ... is that you keep in touch for a month or so at a good pace ... and then it just starts fading out .... )..

In that case, until he makes specific plans to come see you, I'd just be assuming that things will fade out and be pleasantly surprised if they don't..

I don't know, I meet a guy 6 weeks ago in Jamaica who works at the resort. He is visiting me in July. We talk and write a lot. It is still new, but we are in regular contact...

Thanks for the advice! I've been back for a week now and I think I am "coming back down to earth". .

Yes, we do have the "What happens in Vegas" commericals here too - that is why I was so surprised to hear from him. I'm just going to chalk it up to a fun time and great memories and leave it at that.
