It sounds to me like he is being a nice guy and a gentleman. It sounds to me like you do not want a nice guy and a gentleman but a sexual partner only. Call me old fashioned or whatever but to me after only 8 dates it seems a bit soon to be jumping the sack if you want a loving lasting relationship. JMHO.

You're not old-fashioned; I just thought something was wrong with me - I was in my previous relationship (thru Match.com) for 13 years, so I don't know how much "things have changed." However, I guess each relationship (thru Match.com) is different, and I'm just trying to gauge what's average behavior...
You could make the first move if you are interested and see what he says and does. I like physical affection and sexual affection and the expression of that is a natural thing. If I dated someone who didnt want to do much in that dept after 8 dates I'd assume that sex is not a priority to that person and since sex is a priority to me I'd have to wonder if we were a good match. Long term relationships do happen even if people do get physical after a date using Match.com or two so dont worry about it. And..to me..if a guy is going to judge my behavior in that dept, like not consider me long term potential, then I dont want to date using Match.com a guy like that to begin with. That would mean that he holds me to a different set of rules to live life by than him - is he not long term potential because he sleeps with women on the first date?..
No there is nothing wrong with you. I am proud that I have "old fashioned" high moral standards. Dont try to go with whats the norm for today, go with what YOU feel is right for you. To heck with living by others standards and rules. I have to look at myself in the mirror everyday, I want to be able to know I can look myself in the eye. If a man does not want to abide by my standards then it's so long it's been nice to know you..

From my experience the slower the relationship (thru Match.com) goes the stronger the chance of it lasting. Kissing someone you totally dig can be a great experience and just focus on that. I would let the man make the moves and set the pace. I know, I don't think it is fair, but just like the animal kingdom you have to let them do it or else they feel something is off and get scared ....
Also I was thinking you could date using Match.com this man and several others, one of which might be a more physical relationship..
