Okay...so, I have figured out the secret to eating Medifast chili and thinking to yourself, "There is NO way this is diet food...this rocks!".
See below for the best Medifast chili...EVER!!.
Courtney's Sassy Chili.
1 Medifast Chili.
1 1/4 cup boiling hot water ( yes, it's considerably more than the packet calls for).
1/2 beef boullion cube.
1/2 tsp chili powder.
1/4 tsp cumin.
Pinch of cinnamon.
Pinch of red pepper (ground).
1/4 cup low-fat shredded colby-jack/mexican cheese.
1/4 cup low sodium canned diced tomatoes.
Heat your water to boiling. Dump the chili packet into a thermos. Add into the thermos, with the chili, your chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, and red pepper. GENTLY shake to mix dry ingredients together. Pour in your boiling water, plop in your beef bouillon cube..
***This is THE most important part: Let the chili soak in the boiling beef water for a MINIMUM of 4 hours. I let mine site from about 11pm the night before, and eat it the next day at noon for lunch. The longer, the better it tastes..
Once you are ready to eat it, pour the yummy chili into a PAN ( not the microwave) heat to boiling. Pour into a bowl of your choice, add your chopped tomatoes and cheese, and ENJOY! It's soooo incredibly scrumptious!.
I actually was eating this when a friend came to visit, and she grabbed a spoon and had some. I didn't tell her it was MF...she LOVED it, and kept trying to steal it from me. I had to FIGHT someone ( lol) for my Medifast chili..
Who would have thought?..
I don't have a thermos can I use something else? What does the thermos do that some other container can't? Just asking...
My recipe is similar... but it's quick and I just do it on the stove! Add about 3/4 cup to 1 cup of water to the packet of chili and turn on stove to low. Add 1-2 dashes of chili powder and 1/4 - 1/2 cup canned diced tomatoes. Cook for about 10-15 minutes on low, until it begins to boil a little. Take off the heat and pour into a bowl. Add 1 oz.
Fat-free sour cream. If you're feeling really boisterous, add in a crumbled packet of Medifast crackers to make it really chunky. This is THE BEST and I eat it EVERY SINGLE DAY for lunch!..
I just popped into the chat room and someone had said something about making the chili with diet root beer instead of water...has anyone done this? It sounds interesting and different, but I don't know if I'll try it just yet LOL!..
The gal who recommended this has maintained a 100 pound weight loss for 2 years. I trust her judgement. Problem is I hate root beer. I like adding chili powder, garlic powder and tomatoes..
Blessings,.
Elizabeth..
You don't necessarily need a thermos, just something that will conduct the heat from the boiling water as long as possible...so, preferably something aluminum.
Good Luck and enjoy!..
