Your question was: Best Walden farm Salad dressings for Nutrisystem?.
The best way is to just try a bunch of different things to see what you like and don't like. I recommend using the Buy 5 Get 5 Free Promotion (see link in my sig). That way if you throw out a few items you haven't lost that much. Order a wide variety of items so you can sample them...
Contrary to the other sensible advice, I'd say the safest thing to do (budget-wise) is only buy one or two items that are normally your favorites, than if you find them suitable, expand your horizons. I bought the marshmallow and carmel dip, plus a bunch of dressings. The dressings all went straight to the trash, I enjoyed the marshmallow dip, and the carmel is fine mixed in other things. So yeah, i'd say don't go crazy like I did, it's not worth the extra dough...
I found the opposite, actually. When I tried things that were NORMALLY my favorites (like Thousand Island dressing), I hated it since it was SO far from the fat-filled one I loved. Same with Ranch Dressing. So, I went to Italian, and flavor it with lemon or a couple of spritzes of Asian Wishbone Spritzers or some spices. That worked better for me. But, again I say, it is different with everyone...
I like the Thousand Island Dressing. Use it on salads and on the Nutrisystem "Flame Broiled Beef Patty"; it's almost like the In-N-Out Burger secret sauce. The Blue Cheese and Ranch are okay and the Maple Pancake Syrup and Chocolate Syrup are very good..
Be sure to really shake the bottles before each use, it really improves the flavor. They don't taste exactly like the their full-fat/calorie cousins, but like Pam says give it time and you will learn to really like some of them..
I'm stocking up while they have their Buy-one Get-one-free promo which ends at the end of March...
I bought 5 of their items..two dressings and 3 dips. All went straight to the trash...
Hmm true. I guess my main point is then, be careful what you pick and don't buy a million things that could all be wasted. Not to be a negative nancy and scare you away or anything. You could love everything, everyone's different...
Thank you Everyone for your input, I understand everyone has their own "tastes" it's just nice to hear input from others and how close the dressings taste to say The REAL thing lol, of course not forgetting it's diet.......
Hated the coleslaw dressing. Love all the syrups and the fruit spreads. Like most of the dressings but prefer and buy tons of the bacon ranch for me and thousand island for DH...
I use the ranch dressing and mix into Fage 0% fat yogurt. This makes it a really delicious dressing with about 8 calories a TBS. I sometimes use a tsp of olive oil, a little splenda and mixed herbs... but it's really tasty. I don't like it alone, but I wasn't successful reproducing a low calorie, sodium, ranch flavor till now...
All went to the trash! carmel dip choc dip onion dip creamy bacon dressing coleslaw dressing and peanut spread..YUK! IMO, galeos sesame dressing is the best thing used as a dressing or as on coleslaw put on sandwiches! tastes like a creamy asian dressing...
I'm hooked on the Bacon Dip. Great with raw carrots and other veggies...
I've only tried the ranch dressing but I really like it. Looking forward to trying other things soon...
Today, I picked up the Blue Cheese and the Asian Dressing and the ranch dip. I'll know not to expect that they are the same as their full fat alternatives. We have a Sprouts locally that carries several Walden Farms items and I've been looking elsewhere. I'll let you know what I taste!..
I am lucky that a few of the local grocery stores carry WF items - so I was able to try them one at a time - love the ranch dressing!..
I would say to try at least two different things and keep an open mind. I forget which salad dressing I tried first, but I liked it. The second one I tried was Ceasar and I HATED it. If I would have tried the Ceasar first, I probably would not have tried another one. My faves are Ranch, Thousand Island, Coleslaw, and the French is ok. I also love the pancake and chocolate syrup. As someone else said, make sure to shake the bottle really well...
Everyone has different tastes. I absolutely love the Italian and order it by the case. I also like the Coleslaw dressing. I buy the Pancake Syrup and the Chocolate Syrup by the case, also.
Some people don't like Walden Farms at all...I hated everything at first and threw out over $30 worth before I just kept trying and found my favorites...
