Your question was: Can you take Alli while on Nutrisystem?.
It makes sense to me to add it on. I think the main thing it does is block fat absorption so, I really don't think it would hurt to take it. I think I'll do a lil experiement and add it on next week and see if it makes a difference...
This is what the Dietitian has answered in the past about the use of Alli:.
This is Nutrisystem policy for the use of alli:.
GlaxoSmithKline recommends alli to be used in conjunction with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet, and a regular exercise program. It is important to remember that alli capsules are not intended to do all of the work for you or to replace diet and exercise.
While the NutriSystem Advanced program is such a diet, meaning it is low-fat and low-calorie (as well as heart-healthy and full of low-glycemic good carbs), the addition of the alli fat-blocking medication is unnecessary for successful weight loss on NutriSystem. Our programs are designed to promote an average, healthy weight loss of 1-2 pounds per week.
Additionally, the NutriSystem Advanced program was created and is backed by an Advisory Council of leading weight management experts, as well as an entire team of research and program development professionals, who ensure that on NutriSystem youre getting a healthy, well-rounded and sensible approach to weight loss. So, here at NutriSystem we do not recommend use of the drug, alli in conjunction with our program simply because you dont need it..
However, the weight loss remedies you chose are your decision. If you should chose to use alli in conjunction with the NutriSystem program, we highly recommend that you review all of the health effects of taking the drug, alli and consult with your personal physician...
P.S. Just sitting here thinking of one of the reported frequent side effects of Alli (i.e. the leaking poop problem) combined with NutriToots. OMG in heaven...the humanity!..
Thanks Pam, I don't think I'll waste my money. Yes, the nutritoots with the leaking poop - oh my!..
Moreover, your body needs a small amount of fat. Without it, you can have problems with your gallbladder...
And your hair might fall out, along with a host of other problems if you don't have the right amount of fats...
I used Alli a while again, before I went on NS. The leakiness was a BIG drawback. Plus after having two children I had a few issues (hemorrhoids) and that was a MAJOR issue. I would be concerned with how to know if I was getting the healthy amount of fat that others have posted about. Knowing my mind, I might justify some off-system foods - then I'd be back at ground zero with learning a new way to eat. Good luck with your decision and your weight loss...
Ewww, no thank you I will stick to just my nutritoots..
