Symptoms of Candida Overgrowth
The Candida albicans fungus is found in humans. In most cases the body can control the amount of this fungus so that it stays at a reasonable amount. However, this fungus can become an infectious agent when there are changes in the body that may allow this fungus to grow out of control.
One common cause of the infection is the use of antibiotics, that unfortunately destroy the beneficial bacteria, when they are used to destroy the problem causing ones. This makes it possible for the Candida albicans to multiply in their place.
The good bacteria feed off of the fungus. Once the antibiotic is taken and kills all the bacteria, the fungus can run wild and spread.
Other medications, chemicals, toxins or substances may possibly be underlying causes of Candida albicans. Side effects of medications, or exposure to toxins, chemicals, or other substances may cause a symptom or condition. Hence, they become possible underlying causes of Candida albicans but are often misdiagnosed or overlooked as a cause.
Other unnormal substances or occurances in a person’s body can make the fungus grow abnormally. The changes are like a shock to the body and the body has to adjust to the changes. While the body is trying to adjust itself, the fungus can spread more easy.
Drug addicts, diabetics, those with HIV, and people receiving chemotherapy are more at risk in developing this infection. Also those who just received an organ transplant. These people are living with a weakened immune system where the infection can take over easier. Once again, if their body is weaker, it is easier for the Candida albicans fungus to grow. The elderly are also more affected by this considering their bodies are weak in general considering the stress that their body has endured.
Other people who are at risk for this are babies that have a nappy rash, people with metabolic disorders, pregnant women, and women who take high-dose contraceptives. Also those who work in wet conditions. These prople all have occurances that are not easy on the body.
Another cause of Candida albicans is having an improper diet. For a human body to function properly it needs all the necessary vitamins and minerals. Lack of these can cause many different health problems. The body becomes weak and unable to fight off infections, such as the Candida albicans fungus, and it is then able to spread througout the body. Also being overweight can be hard on the body and make it harder for the immune system to handle the fungus, since any activity is a lot harder on the body.
There are many causes for Candida albicans. The biggest factor is if there is a factor which made the body weak and the immune system become unable to fight off an illness or infection. If the body is in a situation where it is weak, there is more of a chance that the Candida albicans fungus will become over powerful in the body and cause lots of harm.
