Thanks so much! I love Nutrisystem foods, and they are so easy, but cash is tight right now. You know how that goes...
If you want it bad enough, it is possible to flex and lose. I lost the majority of my weight flexing because at the time, it was what I could afford. Stick to the guidelines and it's easier if you make your foods look like Nutrisystem foods, then you will know you're on track..
Jen..
Do you have a Big Lots near you? You can find a lot of the Nutrisystem Nourish food there for a good price...
The closest one is a half hour away, and they didn't have any Nutrisystem stuff when I trekked out there...
Two items I've found that have stats similar to NS: Heart Smart Oatmeal for bkfast ( if you dont want to do eggs) and Soy chips for snack ( I havent found any "sweet" snacks that have a high enough protein content)..
You can make a wide variety of cake recipes using Christina Gray's pancake mix substitute, which is made from store bought items...
I've read that you could use the Snickers Marathon Nutrition bars for lunch or the snack. I have a box, and have used it for snacks a couple times. High protein, lower calories, and pretty tasty. I found mine at Walmart...
Here is a gal that did all with her own foods. She has many recipes also.

Wow Birdie, that Amy Smith page is awesome! Thanks!..
This is what I was going to say, too. Although they seem to be changing the name to Marathon Energy, at least on the honey-almond ones. Same stats, though. 150 calories, 10 grams of protein, 7 grams of fiber (22 total carb). It even has 60 percent of your calcium for the day...
I would eat chicken breasts with steamed broccoli (or other veggies) for dinner in addition to the other suggestions. Or leaned ground beef and make it about the size of the Nutrisystem patty. Those Arnold sandwich thins are only $2 at Wal-mart and most places...
Keep having lots of big veggies (cooked, salads, mixed in eggwhites). You can get lots of cheap protein from chicken breasts and eggwhites and tuna and such. Add some spices and mixx the protein with the veggies and it's just like an entree. cheaper than bars and more filling..
For snacks, just do a protein and a fruit or a carb and a dairy. If you want a treat, go with a slice of whole wheat toast with 1/4 tub of FF CC and some SF jam is tasty and cheap and more filling anyhow..
Keep after it. What matters is not how much money you have, but how much guts..
And stay on the boards, too...
