Here is the way I've been making it for months:.
Put 8oz water in shaker cup (Maybe even a bit more, I find them pretty strong), add Cappuccino. Shake like the dickens (remember to put lid on FIRST!) Put into a 2 cup measuring cup and microwave for the right amount of time. (For my microwave it's 120). Pour into a mug or travel cup and enjoy..
I use the 2 cup measure as the shaking adds a LOT of foam and it WILL go all over the microwave if it is in too small a container..
Lately I've started adding the flavor drops and my all time favorite is 5 drops Double Chocolate & 5 drops Toasted Coconut. Divine!.
Good luck!.
Martha..
Martha, you use a total of 10 drops in the one cup? Doesn't that make it to strong? I have started using the drops for my hot drinks but I have not mixed the flavors yet. I have also heard that some people like the Cappucinno stronger and add a little coffee to them, I'm not a coffee drinker so they are plenty strong for me...
Well, I started with 3 drops of each flavor and just kept going up until I got the flavor I like. I'd suggest starting at 2-3 drops of each flavor and going from there..
Martha..
I love the cappucino! Sometimes I mix it up and add it to my morning cup of coffee...
I use my wand blender and try to incorporate a lot of air so it's frothy. I mix it and then microwave about 30seconds....I know, the directions say longer...but I don't like burning my mouth and it's heated through and not foaming over at 30 seconds. (It's not Starbucks, but I like it just the way it is.) I've also had it as a cold shake. I like it better than the Swiss Mocha Shake...sometimes I add just a little instant coffee granules for more coffee flavor..
California Candy..
I also use 8 ounces coffee instead of the water. Delicious. One of my favorites...
I add just enough water to make a paste (otherwise it gets lumpy), stir until all the powder is incorporated, then add the rest of the water and microwave 1.25 minutes (watch so it doesn't overflow). I also add about half a tsp. of instant coffee it doesn't have a strong enough coffee flavor for me. Sometimes I also add various DaVinci syrups like Kahlua & Creme or Amaretto but they do make it pretty sweet. I've got the Capella drops too and it definitely takes a lot of them for the more strongly-flavored Medifast drinks...
I do the same thing. I take it to work and add it to my coffee...
Every morning I have a capp. blended with my 8 oz. of coffee in the Magic Bullet and two Splenda. I sometimes do this with the hot choc. for a mocha!! I LOVE them!..
I add a splenda or two along with flavor drops or WF sf chocolate sauce. I think it's plenty sweet on it's own but the added splenda gets rid of the bitter aftertaste I thought it had at first. I really like the cappucino. Plus you can put it in a to go mug and sip it like a coffee house drink. It's also really good with caramel sf syrup or the caramel flavor drops. YUM! It's one of my favs!..
I did try it. Poured in boiling water and stirred the heck out of it. Then I added some coffee and some FF H&H...there were chunks in it still. The flavor was fine but the chunks bummed me out...
Always use cold water to mix any of the Medifast products. I don't care if the instructions say you can, that way is sure to give you lumps. Unless you add it very slowly and mix well each time. Even then I can't get it lump free if I use hot water..
Martha..
I agree.............use COLD water and nuke it. Gets rid of the lumps...
USE YOUR SHAKER!!!! If you shake then heat your cappicino will be smooth and frothy like it Starbucks. I especially dig the Cappy cold. It is usually too warm in FL to enjoy a hot drink...
I can't help myself..
For a cappucino virgin, I would have to add cherry extract...
