You are brand new and still in unknown territory. You will have challenges along the way, and it sounds like your resolve to stay on plan is strong! The longer you are on plan and the more you say "no" to off plan foods, the easier it gets. I promise! Good job resisting all that junk. Your body does not NEED that stuff, and if you give in to it, you'll probably end up feeling physically and emotionally bad. When I'm having weak moments, I try to focus on things that motivate me: my newly emerging figure, the cost of the food (and how much I'd hate to waste that $$), the thought of getting to goal, how BAD I looked at my heaviest, etc. Find what works for you and hang on!..
Am new to medifast, but just wanted to say don't beat yourself up too bad...I think that overdoing with celery and jello wouldn't be nearly as bad as the other junk that you resisted. Good luck to you!..
I'm proud of how strong you were. I had my first real challenge yesterday while at a wedding reception. The were having Italian food, which I would say that would do me in. Luckily they had salad and water. I drank lots of water. It helps the lettuce swell and fills you up. Hey sounds like you made the best choices available...
It could have been better, and it sure could have been worse! You are new to Medifast and having a challenge the first week is really tough! I promise, it gets easier to navigate through these "challenges"..
However, I would try to plan better in the future and DRINK WATER LIKES ITS YOUR FAVORITE BEVERAGE ON THE PLANET! You may start now...LOL!.
I wish you a big number in the morning...for you and me both!!!..
Be proud of yourself and how strong you were... You didn't overeat like you would have if you weren't on the diet. You know for next time!!..
Thank you EVERYONE! Looking back now, I do feel pretty good that I resisted what was IN MY FACE. Yes...water water water. Adele...I'm taking your advice and water is my best friend (yeahooo)! Today is a new day. I'm down 5 lbs in one week and still OPand today I'm kickin' some booty! I think perhaps we can use events (such as my temptation and resistance day) to grow and learn about our limits and strengths. I for one know that I have A LOT MORE WILL-POWER than I ever thought I did. And this morning, my Medifast oatmeal tasted SO GREAT! You are all very sweet for helping me get through that.
I do think it takes our bodies time to adjust to all of these changes. I will continue turning to this board for guidance (e.g. the "don't workout as much until 3 week mark"which has proven to be successful for me). I will check in after my vacationHUGS TO ALL! And thanks...
5 lbs is AWESOME!!!!! CONGRATS! CONGRATS!.
Have a fantastic vacation and see you when you get back!!!..
WOW, THATS GREAT THAT YOU ARE A TROOPER! YES, THE TEMPTATIONS NEVER GO AWAY BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE THAT MUSCLE TO SAY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!..
Congratulations, that was incredible how you resisted those temptations. Im on my 2nd week, and my first week, I had 2 parties to go to. I was so excited about starting this plan that I wasnt upset at all about missing the heavy, greasy, fatty foods everyone else was putting in there mouths. The feeling of "want" goes away and then you are so proud of yourself for resisting. You didnt "need" the food and thats the difference. You can look at yourself in the mirror and know you did the right thing.
Good job!..
