I think part of the problem is that the Capella drops have such appetizing names and then you expect the Medifast food where you added them to taste fantastic. NOT gonna happen!..
I have found that if you add a bit of vanilla to the shake (or whatever) first, then the capella drops become more emphasized. I like the Davinci syrups better, myself, though...
I like some of the capella drops better than others. I absolutely love the marshmallow in my hot cocoa! I do add about 10-12 drops, tho.
The pnut butter is great in my banana shake and in the choc pudding. Again, I use about twice what they recommend.
I am finding tho, something very interesting! The longer I am on Medifast and not adding sugars or sweeteners or salt, like I used to, that my taste buds are becoming more fine tuned. I am actually tasting the food I'm eating. I'm enjoying the flavors of my veggies and spices.
I think this could be yet another benefit of the program. As we weed out all the "junk" in our diets and learn portion control, etc. we are also reclaiming our taste buds! I wonder if one day I will actually only need "3-5" drops of capella?.
We will all have to keep in touch and compare notes on our journey!..
I was to at first...you just have to use ALOT...im using about 10-15 drops in my shakes...(but I make my shakes with 16 oz of water not 8)..
Yeah I've been using about 6 drops and I can't tell a difference. I've used Hazelnut and Cinnamon Danish. Maybe I'll start adding more.
The best thing I've found to add to shakes to make them taste better is good ol' coffee..
Mmm hmm!..
Yes yes yes!!! I use 20 drops in my cocoa, but that is in the biggest magic bullet cup..which I think is 24oz's. Try using more drops!!!!..
I didn't like the Capella drops either...I was adding about 5-6 drops. Now I will try adding more. I love my DaVinci syrups; they just take up so much counter space..
Originally, I was not a fan of the Capella drops, because I didn't realize the drops on their own are not sweetened. They are like an extract.
When I combine 10-12 drops with a sugar-free flavored syrup and mix my shake in the large Magic Bullet cup, I absolutely love them! My favorite combination is a chocolate shake with a couple TBLs of coconut syrup and the Almond Joy drops. My other fav is a vanilla shake with vanilla bean syrup, cinnamon and Cinnamon Swirl drops...
I tried adding more of the kalua and cream, but still couldn't taste it. I think at this point, I just won't buy any more vanilla shakes. I added marshmallow to the chocolate pudding and it gave a chemical taste to it. I'll just stick with adding a teaspoon of SF/FF dark fudge pudding. I think I have to agree with the coffe and syrups, they do a better job if improving the shakes...
Try a Swiss mocha shake blended with 8 to 10 ozs. of strong coffe and 1 packette of mocha Splenda. Blend with ice and pour it over some ice in a tall cup. Makes a wonderful iced coffee..
Sprinkle some dry Crystal Light lemon ice tea mix in with the peach or raspberry Medifast tea and blend with ice. Much better that way!!.
And....sprinkle the vanilla or any flavor shake with some dry SF jello and also blend well with ice. You can do 5 to 8 shakes with 1 pack of SF jello....any flavor..
Star..
I have been unimpressed with the capella gtts and have not reordered, others really like them so it's all a matter of taste...
