Cristin, this is merely a suggestion, and you probably will even hate me for suggesting it, but have you tried to go "black" on your coffee?.
I did this about two years ago when I was doing Atkins and was sick and tired of getting stalled out by the creamer/splenda situation. I started by just choking down small sips at a time, until I got to where I liked it. It was an acquired taste for sure...but I hate the taste of sugar/creamed coffee and love black coffee! The cool thing is that I can taste all of the little subtle differences between blends that I missed by dressing it up.
This is merely a suggestion, as I had the same frustrations as you did....good luck!..
Ooooo I have the answer! lol.
I LOVE mixing the Swiss Mocha with my coffee - nothing additional needed! I must say that I like iced coffee so it may work better. At work I throw some ice in my shaker, add the coffee, and put the packet in and SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE.... Yummy! I have one in the morning and then one midafternoon to keep me going. I totally relate to your need for coffee. I have also read to use a packet of the Vanilla Shake for coffee through out the day but just remember it is a meal too! I must say I relate word for word and since I have started the program, I cant say that I have missed my coffee. I am really suprised about that!..
I'll give the Swiss Mocha a try. I think I have some of those in my box. I can't do black, I wish I could but I like my coffee sweet and tasty...
I drink decaf Hazelnut coffee every morning with a protein powder. Now that I am on Medifast (2nd day) I have it with either vanilla, choc, swiss choc or cappucino milkshake and drink it on the way to work. I just make up a pitcher of hazelnut coffee and keep it in the fridge, blend with ice and poof my own starbucks LOL.
BTW, I quit using splenda and picked up some stevia drops from vitacost.com. All natural sweetner and suppose to be healthier than splenda or any other artifical flavor. I also use them in my water because they come in flavors ie., english toffee, vanilla creme, chocolate, chocolate raspberry, strawberry, orange, etc. They also have just a natural flavor for sweetening coffee/tea. I do drink hot tea at times and add the vanilla creme and even the english toffee. Try it. It might make the difference...
The vanilla shake, chocolate shake, swiss mocha, cappuccino, and hot chocolate all taste great mixed with coffee. I prefer it iced, but it is good hot too. You can split one pack between a 2-3 cups of coffee too...
I love coffee too and I have not cut down my consumption. I use the cappuccino, hot cocoa, swiss mocha, dutch chocolate or vanilla to flavor my coffee. I do not use any splenda or sweet n low...
It sounds like people have already beat me to the punch but while Im not a coffee adict, but I have heard of others using their powder shakes as a creamer...
