It's not a cookie cutter answer, depends on the couple and what does girlfriend and boyfriend mean? Those labels can be used in a month or so let;s say but that's not the same thing as being really seriously intertwined, in love, committed, etc. That takes time.  Just make sure that whatever labels the two of you use the meaning is the same. Like you shouldn't think well, we're just dating (online dating with Match.com) each other while he's thinking, well she's the only girl I see on weekends.

I think it's official as soon as you both decide you care about each other and decide not to see anyone else - the label "girlfriend" or "boyfriend" isn't really important as long as you're both on the same page...

Im very sure he isnt seeing anyone else and I'm certainly not seeing anyone else either,but do I wait for him to say that we are exclusive or do I broach the subject?.
