Sounds great. I've been afraid to try the shakes hot last time I tried, it exploded all over me! NOT one of my finer moments - although did amuse my co-workers. I assume you did not try to shake it in the Medifast shaker, but stirred it up instead?..
I heated the water first in a latte mug. After it was hot enough, I used a hand mixer to get the lumps out. It had a nice froth on it when I was done too...
I like the shakes hot too- if the water is really hot it helps dissolve the lumps I think. I typically don't use an entire packet of shake mix- it makes it too thick for me, so I use about 3/4...
Mmm, I love the hot cocoa, but never thought about trying the shakes hot!! Thanks for the idea!!.
As for the blowing up all over you, let me tell you...the first time I made a soup at work, I did it in a shaker jor....same silly thing happened to me...and co-workers enjoyed seeing me "in" soup too!!..
If you use slightly less water and only half a packet, you can have two separate meals. I do this with the chai as there is way too much powder for only one cup of water. I usually do two separate mugs of chai from one packet...
Lmao! That happened to me too! Only cause I was making soup and decided to make a shake for later. So I used to same heated water and in 2 sec........ BOOM!!!!!!! All over the kitchen counter and wall x]..
I asked about hot shakes when the weather got cold When I ran out of Medifast cocoa...it worked for me. I was craving Mexican style hot chocolate so added almond flavoring and a generous amount of cinnamon. ORALE` It was GOOD..
Gwen in l.a...
The Mexican style hot chocolate sounds good,,i will have to try that one!..
I agree. The choco shake is good hot! I add a little more water - feels like I am getting more! I have a couple of huge coffee mugs I use. The best thing to keep from turning your drink mix into moten lava spilling over the sides of the cup is definately to heat the water BEFORE adding the powder...learned that one the hard way.
I also like the idea of the Mexican chocolate - my favorite - and cinnamon has some good health benefits, too. Double YEA!..
I have hot shakes. I mix using cold water in my hand blender then heat in the microwave!..
A hot shake sounds pretty good. I think I'll try the Vanilla I'll bet with a little cinnamon or SF hazelnut it will taste like a Starbucks Steamer..
Thanks for the idea...
Let me know how the Vanilla turns out! This almost makes me wish I had ordered the Chocolate...
Wow. Those are great ideas with the shakes. I have three boxes of shakes I've been sort of avoiding using because I'm just plain tired of them. But hot? Like thicker hot chocolate, or maybe a steamer? THAT's worth trying! Thanks!..
Hot Vanilla shake with a little SF Cinnamon Not quite Starbucks, but pretty darn good.
Now I have to decide if I'll try Hazelnut or Caramel next...
Try flavor drops too. I like nearly every flavor in the chocolate shakes (well, of the flavors that I like to begin with...)..
