Congrats on your success! I often found that hungry days were often associated with a few things... 1) TOM 2) I was about to have a "big" loss and my body was trying to trick me into keeping the weight 3) I needed more protein - maybe been exercising more than usual. Any of these sound likely? Have you drank all your water today?.
I found drinking a flavored drink would often satisfy my hunger - diet coke, crystal light, coffee, etc. How about a snack? Could you eat a pickle or jello to help you over your hunger? How about something to distract you - like visiting these boards, gardening, etc. I know a lot of people like the strawberry shakes, but I find them nasty, too!.
Good luck! Becki..
I am really hungry today, too. I did a FIRM video though, and when I lift weights I feel half starved! I have never tried the strawberry shakes, so I don't have any ideas to make them more palatable. Sorry. Hopefully, your food will arrive soon..
Good luck!.
Beth..
I mix raspberry sugar free Davinci syrup with the strawberry,,,blend it , then sit it in the fridge until I am ready for that meal,,,then put ice in it, blend again,,turns out thick and creamy,,,very good!! I have found all the shakes are best if mixed before hand, either in the shaker or blender, and allowed to sit in the fridge for at least half hour,,longer if possible, Hope this helps!..
Also 'freezing' your tongue with an ice cube does help. Just a quit rub and those taste buds go right to sleep...
I always have an extra serving of veggies if I am REAL hungry another salad or a small plate of steamed broccoli.
Kathleen..
Sometimes I eat extra celery dipped in salsa or cauliflower and then I go to the boards with a 16 oz bottle of water flavored with CL. Hope your hunger subsides soon!..
I had one of those days on the weekend - it did pass and I felt better for it but it is a scary place to be. Hope it worked out well for you! Everyone has given some pretty good suggestions above...
I had the same experience a couple of days ago. I was soooo hungry for two days and was really concerned about it as I have not been hungry on the plan so far (almost four weeks now). I had been on a plateau for about three days and was a little frustrated by that as well. I drank a lot of water, got busy doing other things to keep myself occupied, and stayed on plan. Lo and behold I dropped a pound and a half the next day. I agree with the earlier post that says they have found this happens right before a good weight drop.
Good Luck!..
I hope you are right because I have been hungry this week and I haven't been this way in a very long time. I guess I'll find out on Tuesday my weigh in day. My fingers are crossed...
I also associate a time of exaggerated hunger with an imminent weight drop. It seems like the body's last futile attempt to get you to add more fuel so that you will keep the fat. "Help! I am starving! Feed me!!!" Hard to ignore? Feed it celery or dill pickles!..
Drink a cup of hot green tea...it's filled with antioxidants and works as an appetite suppresant. It's good to drink some every day, but that's the first thing I reach for on those extra hungry days...
I chew sugarless gum when I get that way. It gives my mouth the chewing action and keeps me from putting anything else (except water) into my mouth until it is time for my next meal...
Gum works for me, but I like that green tea idea..
