Your question was: Is it possible to lose 40 lbs in 3 months on Nutrisystem?.
I'm starting week 8 and I've lost 12 pounds. I've dropped one dress size and my bras have gone from the first row of hooks to the 3rd row which is strange because the girls (as I call them) are usually the last place I lose. I've also noticed some of my pants are getting lose in the wasit..
I haven't meassured myself but I know I'm loosing inches and I don't exercise. Nasty word...lol..
I lost 10 pounds the first 2 weeks but I was at 225the heavier you are the faster you lose those first pounds. I had out of town company and stopped the program for over a week so am just getting back to it and adding exerice to my program to help keep the metabolism going. From watching the Biggest Looser, it seems if you exersize big drops are possible but I guess we'll see. I do know if you don't eat enough on this program or any diet, your metabolism slows down and weight loss becomes harder. (have to feed the engine to make it work :O) Best of luck and hope your hard work pays off...
It is indeed true the heavier you are the faster you lose..
When I was over 200 pounds it just flew off....now that I'm down to 169.. it's a struggle... but I'm confident...
I am in my 7th week and have lost 8 pounds. not quite as much as I would like, but it will do. I am 5'9" and started at 197 pounds, so I know I am not severely overweight, but a good 30-40 pounds loss would be great!!!..
In all honesty, it IS possible to lose that much, as it only really averages out to be about 3 1/3rd pounds per week to lose. Just as long as you understand that you lose faster in the beginning and not expect for a stable amount of loss over that period, then yes...
40 in 3 months is ambitious. My suggestion is you continue the three months of Nutrisystem and when the Nutrisystem brand food runs out - just keep the plan going with grocery foods of similar stats.
There is a great deal of information on these boards of how to duplicate the plan without the brand foods. Check out the food tips boards and consider purchasing the Nutrisystem cookbook (under A la carte). The cookbook helped me see how to cook correct portions after I switched to cooking for myself...
Thank you for the responses everyone! I know 40 lbs. in 3 months is a lofty goal but I will definitely work hard and keep my fingers crossed! lol..
I'm in week 11 and am averaging 10 pounds per month...
