Your question was: Is this an acceptable Nutrisystem dinner substitute?.
I zeroed in on your post because the thought of being able to get a pizza with good stats at a local market really appealed to me.
I usually buy pizza from www.pizzafree.com. I pulled one out of my deep freeze and checked the stats & size:.
7 inch diameter (vs. 5 inches for living right pizza).
181 grams (vs. 106 grams).
Cals: 248.
Fat 0 grams carb 41 grams fiber 3 grams protein 20 grams (!).
Definitely more bang for the buck, but in a pinch....
Current coupon offering from PizzaFree is 10% entire order through midnight July 4, 2010; use code: JULY4. The more you buy, the cheaper per pizza..
They have improved their shipping method and now use dry ice so they are cold on arrival..
Lots of folks on Nutrisystem buy 'em. That's how I found out...
I have been so tempted to buy Pizza Free and wondered how these compare. Thanks for checking! Another 2 inches!!..
I love the FnF pizzas, but it's nice to have a locally available option, too. Although Whole Foods is still kind of a trek for me...
I have gotten two shipments since they said they were starting to use dry ice, but neither of my orders came with it.....just the freezer pack thingie (which was totally thawed out). The pizzas were not the least bit frozen, but I guess they are safe to eat. They haven't killed me yet!..
Aha! I have not ordered lately and wondered how the dry ice worked out; seems not!.
Mine have arrived here in southwest Florida so warm you could practically eat them out of the styrofoam packaging and the freezie things are totally warm.
Like LuznTheCaboose, I've been eating them the past year (cooked!) and no ill effects noted..
Glad to be of help with the 411, Chefsofee!..
The Living Right Pizza seems to be more nutritional than the Fit & Free... haven't tried either one. How do they compare in price?..
I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion .....
Haven't tried Living Right, but we love the Fit & Free pizzas. Yes, they are a few calories higher and a few carb g higher, and 1 measly fiber gram short...but there's no fat (I add olives to mine), and double the protein, as well as being larger. They are a bit spendy & have to be shipped, but I've never had any trouble with that...the dry ice has evaporated by the time it gets here, but the pizzas are always cold.
I guess it depends on what's most convenient for you. I have to pay for the shipping and wait on the order, but I'd have to drive over 40 miles to get to a Whole Foods...so these work for me..
