2 hrs apart would never work for me - I have my first Medifast meal no later than 7 AM, so 2-hour spacing means I'd eat at 7, 9, 11, 1, 3, and 5 - I would be pretty unhappy the rest of the evening if I ate my last meal at 5.
I tend to do a mix, like you. It's often between 2.5 and 3h between meals for me...
I do a mixture of spacing due to my schedule at school. I have three of my Medifast meals before I get home at the end of the day, which leaves me with my l&g and two Medifast meals in the evening. I like to eat at night, so it works out really well for me..
However, on days i'm really, really hungry, I will purposefully space my meals closer together...
I do the mixture too. Mornings I am less hungry than evenings. So mornings I am closer to 3 hrs and evenings closer to 2.25 hrs. I haven't found altering that timeframe makes a difference in my weight loss...
I space it out closer to 3 earlier in the day - and then closer together at night. The only thing that does seem to affect my loss and my hunger is if I wait too long to eat in the morning or go much past 3 hrs - either of these things makes me ravenous for the rest of the day...
I also mix my meal spacing depending on the days I work...

When I was doing the weight loss phase, I spaced 2.5 to 3 hours,,depending on the way I was booked at work. I always wanted to have one Medifast meal for the evening,,when relaxing...
I have my 1st Medifast by 7 a.m., the 2nd between 10-11 a.m., the 3rd around 2 p.m., the 4th I have usually when I get home from work,(around 5ish),while I prepare dinner, this is the time I would normally eat MINDLESSLY, then I have my L&G , and lastly will have my 5th Medifast around 8 p.m...
It depends on how hungry and/or busy I am hehe. It usually averages to every 2.5 hours though...
My body likes every 2 hours don't know why but it does. I get weak or weary after 2 hours I can put it off if needed until 2 1/2 but never 3 ...
I eat at 8a, 10a, 12a, 2p, 4p and the L&G at 6p. I am too hungry by noon not to have 3 meals. And the L&G at 6pm seems to suppress my appetite for the rest of the evening...
