Which cook book are you asking about? If it's the Medifast cookbook offered on their website, while I haven't read it, I think it would be a safe bet that the recipes are very realistic. If it's the cookbook offered here by a member, I would not trust that they are necessarily OP, although that is the claim, and you may find more exotic ingredients used than you may be used to...
Thank you for the input.
It just seems that there are only so many ways to make the lean and I have a really hard "unimaginative" way of cooking the veggies. I find myself getting bored with same-o same-o, and I know that can be a dangerous thing. So I think maybe next orde I'll try the cookbook. Do you know if it can be purchased in a bookstore?.
S..
Good question. Not really sure about that although my instincts say probably not. You might be able to pick up a copy on ebay though..
ETA: I did a search on the Borders web site and came back negative on Medifast, L&G and Lean and Green...
I just got my L & G cookbook in the mail yesterday. I browsed a bit. It looks like it has a lot of fish recipes, some chicken, and a few pork and red meat. Not a ton of recipes. I was a little disappointed in that.
The book itself it nice. Great pictures and all. I haven't really taken a close look at the recipes yet though...
We've been eating thru the recipes and haven't found a bad one yet...
Let me start off by saying that even though I'm overweight, I am a terrible cook!.
I made Spicy Garlic Lime Shrimp and it turned out pretty well! I had never cooked shrimp before and I happily ate my portion and a friend who was over at the time had a portion also and we were both left feeling satisfied..
I havn't tried any of the other ones, but I'm planning on it this weekend...
