Hi Jacaroo, I think maybe you might try a bit more water. I find that one trick is to add the water very slowly when mixing, to avoid clumps, and then to cook on the stove top over a medium low heat. Seems slower is better, and that way you can relax and enjoy the smell while you slowly stir the pot. The multigrain crackers are not salty, at least to me, so are a nice topping crushed up and sprinkled on the soup. Good Luck!..
I use a small whisk when I mix up the cream soups, it seems to help...
Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't had any problems with lumps in the soup. The time that it curdled I did cook it on the stove, but perhaps on too high a heat? So this morning, I used the microwave. It cooked up fine. It just tasted much too salty to eat. I literally could not swallow it..
I'm going to search for the cracker recipe and see if I can tolerate those. I'm just afraid to use up another packet (we all know these things aren't cheap) for something I won't be able to choke down...
Not sure why everyone thinks the soups are too salty....I never thought so and I just looked... they have the same amount as the shakes...250MG...
I boil water in a tall wide-mouthed plastic jar in the microwave. Then, I use an electric stick mixer to blend it. I have no lumps or anything. I mix all the shakes and soups with it...
Try adding a little extra water if they are too salty...
I'm with you, totally. Hate the cream of chicken and the broccoli isn't much better. I'm kinda new, not yet hit the two week mark, but the one thing i've done that helps is add stuff to it, like some cut up chicken or a little broccoli. Chopped onion and celery help too. The crackers do make it tolerable. Final suggestion, I did this yesterday and it was good: pour it over a piece of grilled chicken as part of your lean and green. I liked it, it helped me use up a packet of the stuff and gave me some variety! Good luck!!..
Has anyone ever tried mixing the cream of chicken with chicken and wild rice soup to make a kinda chicken gumbo? I've been thinking I'll try that..
And I don't why it tastes salty but when I made crackers from it I couldn't eat them at allthey tasted like pure salt. I don't know what it is but most likely some additive that some of us have a real taste sensitivity to..
I have a gazillion stoopid packs of cream of brocoli soup that I somehow managed to order...
