The number of sexual partners is not directly proportionate to your inclination to cheat. Good Grief! I would probe to see if I could find out where his insecurities come from, has he been cheated on before? But I have to admit, if he persisted with wanting to know and could not get past it I would not continue to see him..

 Real quick. DO NOT TELL HIM HOW MANY PEOPLE you've been with!!!! It's none of his business! I can't see anything good that would come out of him knowing. I'd be willing to bet that he may want to know so that 1) he can 'brag' about his past conquests or 2) he hasn't had many conquests and is hoping that you're just as 'inexperienced' as he is..
