Hmmm, Old Bay. Hadn't thought of that one! Thanks for the idea. And glad to hear that you are doing so well on the program. It gets easier with time...
I have been grinding my minestrone soup in my coffee grinder and making the cracker recipe out of it. I add a touch of BBQ sauce to take away the bitter taste and they are OK. I wont be buying that soup again as well but until it's all gone crackers it is..
No can handle the beef stew! So happy I like everything else but beef stew and eggs...
How funny different tastes are...the beef stew is my favorite!..
Haven't tried the eggs yet, but the Beef stew and Minnestrone are my favorites!..
I love the beef stew. I add some chicken base, chili powder and a drop of cayenne pepper. I also add in some chopped cabbage. It is really good...
Personally, I can't understand how the Minestrone Soup made it through the medifast test kitchen. :-) But I spiced it up a bit with some Italian seasoning and extra water.
Anyone have any experience with making your own Minestrone Soup? I mean, if we're talking beef broth and lots of veggies, it can't break the Medifast diet, right?..
I read a hint a couple of months ago to add a stalk of celery to ALL the soups, and let them steep for an hour if you can. It has made it much easier for me. I tried adding bullion, but even the low salt made it too salty for me, so skipped that hint. I too love the minestrone! I too don't see how the pasta and peas made it in! The beef stew gets better the more you eat it. I don't think anything can help the eggs, seasonings, FF cheese, I've tried it all.....
I add Mrs. Dash to my Beef Stew with a little garlic powder and let it soak for about 4-6 hours before I heat it up. That is what did the trick for me, but I will try the Old Bay..
I also found with the eggs you must cook them on the stove like an omelet or scrambled. They are just like Egg Beaters that way. I tried microwaving them one day and it just was not happening for me. Again I add Mrs. Dash (and some veggies)...
