Your question was: Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt for Nutrisystem?.
Any time. I eat Greek yogurt with cheesecake pudding mix and some fresh blueberries every morning for breakfast. Love it!..
Dragonforcefan,.
I'm not wild about the Oikos vanilla either. For breakfast I mix in the Nutrisystem granola or another sweet Nutrisytem cereal into it and it goes down good then. Sometimes I spread it on one of the breakfast bars too...
Oh, I think I would have to buy the granola separately. They don't offer it as an option for diabetics/hypoglycemics that I was able to see. I did go and pick up some jello pudding flavors and mixed some cookies and cream in with it and it was AWESOME!! Kickin it up a notch, like Emeril, thanks to Kompukat and Jessee! Thanks guys!..
They make sugar-free pudding mix in cookies and cream??..
Blueberries are my favorite add-in. I just tried the oikos Caramel yogurt this week and it was really good...
I love the Chobani & Dannon brand for Greek yogurt, but the Oikos brand seems too thin and bitter for me. At least the one I tried. I can never find Fage that people here seem to love...
So glad to see these posts about Greek yogurt. I agree the vanilla is bitter. It was the only one I tried and just thought all Greek yogurt tasted like that. I will try again with your recommendations. Thanks..
I've been adding pitted cherries, cut into pieces, chopped walnuts, then drizzle with some honey(a small amt. goes far when you drizzle it).The cherries have been particularly good, huge and black! The combination of sweet and crunchy goes really well with the tartness of the vanilla or even plain Greek yogurt!..
I found the Fage yogurt in my Giant food store. It wasn't, with the other Greek yogurt stock. It was all the way at the opposite end of the store in the refrigerated area of the organic food aisle...
Try Chocolate Oikos!!! I am NOT a yogurt fan in general, but this is the only one I've found that I really like, and now I eat it almost every day. 110 cal, no fat, 17 g. carbs, 10 g. protein. And definitely helps me with the chocolate cravings...
I can't find the chocolate Oikos anymore. They had it at Walmart and now it's gone! They have honey, caramel & blueberry but no chocolate! It was the only greek yogurt I could get down.....
What oz of the Oikos yogurt do you eat? It seems like the larger ones with strawberries, etc have too many calories. I just bought a pack of smaller ones at whole foods... is this a dairy or a protien? thanks, Alisa..
OK I just looked at the packaging on the 4oz cups. they are 80 calories, 0 fat, 11 Protein. Can I go up to the bigger Oikos?..
I bought a bag of frozen berries & let them thaw out and get all juicy (& added some splenda) to add to my oikos yogurt. Tastes good, but way too soupy. So now I mix my berries & yogurt in a blender with some ice and drink it on the way to work.
And I agree- the chocolate is way better! But I can't find it in the large tubs!.
Alisa- I still eat 8 oz of the oikos even though it's more calories than you're supposed to allot to yogurt. I figured, it's got more protein, and after all, I didn't get fat by eating 40 extra calories of yogurt every morning..
Anna..
Lharder, they carry the chocolate Oikos at Whole Foods, if you have one near you. They have the 4-pack of the smaller ones - they are 110 calories each. They fit the stats for a protein serving...
I eat FF plain greek yogurt (Greek God brand) over sliced strawberries and add splenda to sweeten it up...
