My next question is: Today was the first day of class and this girl sat next to me. She was fiddling with her hair and throwing it over her shoulder. I asked her where she got this packet for the class and she spoke really fast (seemed like nervousness) and gave a thorough answer..

Huh? she likely WAS nervous - esp. if the first day of class. Why on earth would you assume that someone being nervous in what is typically a nerve inducing situation means she is attracted to you? There are too many unknowns in this situation to guess based on one interaction. Do you WANT her to be attracted to you?.

She sounds nervous. If she's talking with you freely, though, she may think you're cute. Why not just take it easy and start chatting with her and see where it goes??.

Based on what you posted, I dont think you can tell if the girl was attracted to you. I worked with a woman who used to constantly twirl her hair around her fingers...we all took it as nervousness...

Well - she could be interested. What she did is a sign, but it could mean other things as well. If you'd like to get to know her. Go for it. At least you tried.
