You're lucky you don't know what they are. the red marks are a hyperpigmentation left after the pimple goes away. it looks like chicken pox. the marks are the same size as the acne was, and they just remain after the pimples go away, usually. they are worse if you pick. they are not usually depressed marks.
your backyard has a small bumpy hill in the middle of the grass. it's a pain to mow over it and it's just out of place. So, you decide to dig it out. After you have removed the hill, there is a circle of dirt where the hill used to be. it will take time for the hole/blemish to heal and grow grass and fill in with the rest of the grass..
I approve of this analogy!Sidenote- As my dermatologist explained it, the redmarks don't really clear up until after your course. Looking forward to testing the validity of that statement in a couple of weeks, because I have accumulated my share of them..
The red marks will go away. Use a mild glycolic acid lotion 1-2x daily and they will go away sooner. Neutrogena Healthy Skin is my favorite for the last 10 years. What doesn't go away are the indented scars and (usually) raised scars..
Yeasimply, the red marks are like the grass story above,or i'd sayyou call me a !@#$%I slap you on the face twiceand you have a red markloljust like the acne, acne pops up, you get angry about it and pop it etc, acne dies angry, and leaves a 'I USED TO LIVE HERE' mark I guess if we're kind to acne, they'll leave us with no marks....
Lol, I've tried that approach (being nice to the acne)But they're ruthless =[I get hyperpigmentation no matter what.
