Your question was: Shirataki Noodles on Nutrisystem?.
Do you have an asian grocery store? They have many styles to choose from in my area. Also, Safeway carries them, near where they have the tofu and refrigerated salad dressings. Good luck. Remember to rinse, rinse, rinse those buggers well, otherwise they taste fishy...
All of the stores have them that I have seen. Just look by the tofu...
I've seen them at Harris Teeter, Earth Fare, Whole Foods, Harmony Farms...
Thanks!!! I have not looked in the refrigerated sectionfor some reason I thought they were a dry noodle. I will check HyVee today!!!..
Deb, they are usually in the produce section near the asian vegetables and/or tofu. They come in fettucini, spaghetti and angel hair shape - I find the fettucini to be a bit rubbery, but the other two are realy good when mixed with vegetables or used with the tomato sauce dishes. Good luck finding them!!..
I like the angel hair pasta the best because it's not so thick. You can't even tell the difference. Great for low cal. spaghetti, alfredo, with sm. amt of oil & veggies.. good to go!..
I am buying my first bag, can you give me any suggestions on how you make them (what you add to them, cook them, flavorings, etc.)..
Just use them as you would spaghetti. Add shrimp, spray butter, garlic..
Add tomato sauce, chicken breast strips, garlic(always garlic)...
I add mine into Nutrisystem meals like rotini, fettucine alfredo, penne pasta.....
Hungry Girl has a recipe for Girlfredo...you can google it and get the recipe..
Jen..
I make a fake lo mein - add them to stir fried Asian vegetables (baby bok choy, bean sprouts, cabbage, scallions, garlic, ginger) toss in some shrimp or chicken or crumbled Morningstar Asian burger - very filling and very delicious!!..
Are they counted as a carb? or what would they be?..
Here is a link describing them:.

4 ounces, or half of the package of noodles is 20 calories, 3 g carbs, 1 g protein, .5g fat..
So a free food...
