I have always made mine the day before and have two-days worth as I add veggies to the sauce. I also pre-boil a bit in weak chic buillon/water, drain really well, and cut them up with the kitchen shears. It tastes pretty good to me as the shirataki absorbs the flavors of the tomato, mushrooms, zucchini, and cubanelle peppers. Not the same as real pasta but not bad at all!..
I guess I'm totally weird but I really like the kinda rubbery texture of the shiratake noodles! Once I tried them I was sorry I let some posts scare me. I had some last night with a bunch of veggies and some ragu lite pasta sauce. yummy!..
I am a shirataki fan. I use the tofu ones since they are readily available for me and I like the linguine ones. I use the angel hair ones for soup. And I am not a big pasta fan anyway, but a nice change of pace...
Where do you buy Shirataki from?.
New to Medifast and am looking for great recipies...
I get my shirataki's from www.miraclenoodle.com. I know some people have had problems getting their noodles expediently lately, but I haven't had any problems getting mine. It usually takes a week (they come from the west coast and I am on the east coast) I'll keep my fingers crossed that they keep coming without delay. Welcome to MF!..
Thanks for the post. I have send in an order and I am anticipating trying them.
Do you have any great recipies to use them?.
What noodles do you usually buy?..
I have only bought the angel hair version of the Miracle Noodles. I don't use the Tofu ones. And never the fettucine size. Too rubbery IMO. There are some great recipes here. A lot of people like the Mac N Cheese by Lydiaa ROCKS.
If you go to the orange "search" button above, you can find a lot of these recipes. Enjoy...
I just ordered some last night from Konjacfoods.com. They are the supplier to Miracle Noodles. Since some people were having problems with Miracle Noodles. I decided to try the Konjacfoods I will let everyone know how it turns out...
So these are OK to eat on MF? I didn't see them on the approved list. Do they count as your protein in the Lean and Green?.
Thanks for your help..
1.5 cups counts as your daily green. A lot of us use a 7oz package and fill the rest up with veggies...
How do you store them? Will they keep in the fridge or freezer? Trying to figure out how much to order.....
Storage depends on the type you order. The tofu ones must be refrigerated. The miracle noodles are fine on the shelf...
