Probably because somewhere in her mind, she has bitterness that it didn't work out with him and while she may openly give you a "blessing" (do you really need one for a THREE WEEK relationship?) her own anger over this guy hasn't been overcome. She doesn't sound as though she has much maturity if she's looking to sabotage your chances, if I were you I'd start looking at the big picture - Has she been a really good friend to you in the past and is this one incident, or does she have a history of stepping on your neck to get ahead?I imagine part of the reason it didn't work out with this guy was because of her high-maintenance issues! Just a guess!Perhaps this guy is best not pursued... Do what's right for you..

First thing is she is no friend and if I were you I would have nothing more to do with her.  True friends dont stab you in the back..

If you and this guy want to keep in contact, do it privately and not where she can see it.  You dont need to tell her anything.  It wont take long for her to become bored and move on to something else.  She needs to mind her own business..

Thanks for your advice...I would love to keep everything private, but she has become good friends with his best friend (who is a girl) and they talk all the time now! I swear where is Jerry Springer when ya need him? I am starting to think he is just not worth is, but then she will think she has "won"...so I will go out to dinner with him tonight and see what happens and trust my instincts...

Well I went out with him last night and it went ok but I am not going to see him again. All this drama is really not worth it, and it seems he is relishing being in the middle of two women...so all in all he is just as inmature as she is! But this experience has shown me her true colors, though she denies doing any wrong and still has not apologized to me. Oh well, ya live and learn!..

Im sorry you lost a bf and a gf, but as you said their true colors came out.  Take the knife out of your back and grieve and heal and eventually move on.  Just a little advise here.  It would help you out tremendously if you have no further contact with either of them..
