Can you get a salad w/ chicken in the airport? I would think, but I have no clue really, they would have salads. If nothing lese, eat the meat from a burger and dump the bread? Side salads.
If you have powdered shakes or soups you could make them there with hot (tea) or cold bottled water. Maybe just have an extra shake or Medifast meal that day? If they have a food court type place, maybe stemaed veggies with or without meat that day...
At the airport you can get your L&G... any restaurant (like a Chilis or TGIF) will do a salad and grilled chicken or steamed brocolli for you. I've gotten that in the airport. If there is a McDonalds you can do grilled chicken (no bun) for like 2-2.50 (you may need 2 to get 6 oz) and the $1 side salad (again you may need 2-3 to get to 3 cups) - just take out the few carrots in it. That would be what I would do, then eat your Medifast meals while on the plane. Or you can get something at a restuarant and then bring it on the plane to eat after takeoff - I've seen large chicken ceasar salads that you do and just not eat the cheese - that would probably save for an hour or so before eating it.
Bring 3 or so empty plastic water bottles thru security and then fill them at a water fountain to bring on the plane, that way you don't have to ask for water every few minutes or purchase it after security! You need to drink a lot more than 64oz due to being up in the air for a long time..
Have a wonderful flight and a good time at home!..
Thanks for the advice! I like those ideas! I just hope that places like Mcdonalds or Chilis are open at the time when I land!.
I'll write more later, I'm going back to work!..
Bring a whole bunch of crunch bars with you for the airport and air travel time. No security issues since they are not liquid and you don't have to do any mixing.
Another thing you can do is make the "breads" out of the cream of chicken / broccoli / tomato soups. Wrap them individually in foil.. they travel well...
It was good to read this thread. I, too, will be traveling overseas soon. My question is when to start the next day since I will be arriving late afternoon there but it will really be the middle of the night here. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...
