He can like you, even love you, but not want a relationship (thru Match.com) with you (doesn't mean it is anything you did or didn't do, he just doesn't feel that "click" with you)....and after being friends that long and it hasn't went beyond friends, then you need to back away from this, realize it isn't going to happen, and find someone on the same page as you. This guy has told you he doesn't want more than friends, believe him...

It could be a fear of changing the status quo. If the relationship (thru Match.com) doesn't work do you lose the friendship?.
