Okay, so I met this really nice guy on Eharmony(at least I thought he was). We emailed back and forth and then about a week ago, we talked on the phone the first time. We hit it off almost instantly when we were talking. It was like I had known him forever. The next day, he left me a cute text message telling me to have a great day. That morning, he also asked me if I would like to go out for dinner.

We also chatted on MSN all afternoon. He was asking me all kinds of questions and I was doing the same. In any case, things were going well. I talked to him Monday night, and then sent a new picture since I had just gotten a haircut. He called me first thing the next AM to tell me he had seen the pic and it was cute and he could not wait for dinner tonight (last Tuesday).

He even told me that he had a dream about kissing me on the date. So....we had dinner Tuesday night and he hugged me as soon as he saw me. I thought dinner went okay, and then he hugged me goodbye and said he would call me soon......it's been a week now and no call.....what do I do? I see him online now every day but don't want to message him because if he wanted to talk to me, he would have called right? Any advice??..

It sounds like he didn't think you were a match in person. I would just move on and next time, don't spend so much time talking before you meet. Sheri..

Thanks for the advice. dating (online dating with Match.com) is hard....this was my first "first" date using Match.com in 2 years. I guess I can just chalk it up as experience, right? Still sux, though...

Yes, chalk it up. It's not fun but that's part of dating, unfortunately. I take everything a guy says early on with a huge grain of salt, and pay attention to actions over words (unless the words are saying something I don't want to hear like, "I'm not really ready for a relationship"then you need to pay attention to the words, too).If you're new to OLD you might want to check out the online dating (online dating with Match.com) board as well.Sheri..

As usual, Sheri gives good advice. If you are so inclined you could just simply ask him if he felt that the meeting between the two of you fell flat because you feel it went flat because you two simply hugged goodbye. Sometimes men aren't into us and that is why they dont call, other times it is because they sense that we dont like them and they shy away. So...the answer to your question may not be that obvious...

THanks for the different way to look at things. I am pretty much resigned to the fact that I will never know why he didn't call/contact me. At this point, it has been a week and I figure he has had every opportunity to call/email/etc if he were interested in seeing me again. Thanks for your advice Sheri and Snafu...
