Renee - The only time I have seen 4&2 on Medifast is when individuals were running out of Medifast before a new shipment was received. I know Medifast used to do 6 Medifast meals a day and no lean and green, but now they have us do 5&1...
I have seen Nutrisystem recommend 4/2 for people who require additional protein or calories for special reasons..
I believe it also comes up as a part of transition and maintenance as we slowly get off the program..
I would imagine you can still lose weight doing the 4/2 if that is what suits you, but perhaps more slowly..
Good luck.
Karen..
With the 4/2, you substitute one Medifast meal for a 2nd LG. Like Karen said, it's used by people who need extra protein or calories. Maybe for people who are exercising heavily or whose drs want them to take in more calories. It is commonly used short term by people when traveling. I used it when traveling when I was in the losing phase, but generally I did 3/2 (cause with 2 LGs, I didn't usually need the 4th Medifast meal).
If you search the Nutrisystem thread, you should find some info on it. The topic comes up every month or so.
Becki..
Okay.
Thank you.
Beck, Karen Do you suppose it is still healthy and a successful way to lose?.
I came across it on a thread and it caught my curiosity LOL.
Renee..
I have followed a 3&2 while traveling (per NS's recommendation) and still lost but I just seem to maintain on 4 & 2. Then again, I don't exercise a lot...
NS had recommended I do 4/2 when I stalled on the loss, seem I needed more calories/carbs because of my activity level ,and I followed that until goal. I have been maintaining 8 months now, and do 3(L/G) and 2(MF)...
You will probably lose slower on the 4/2 unless you are VERY active (and need the extra calories). So it depends what your goals are... how fast you want to lose. Unless you are experiencing some problems with the 5/1 and suspect it's from burning too many calories with exercise, I'd suggest staying on the 5/1. But you really should talk to Nutrisystem about your goals and issues, and have them help you thru them. Good luck! Becki..
